Lipid Research and Microarray Technology

Lipids participate in the formation of many important structural features of cells, and are the core of regulating and controlling a variety of cellular functions. Some lipids are also key members involved in cell signal transduction pathways. Lipid signaling errors can also cause cell dysfunction. Therefore, proteins that interact with lipids and synthesize or metabolize lipids are potential therapeutic targets. Characterizing the composition and abundance of cellular lipids and the relationship between this and disease will help understand how to intervene to correct diseases caused by dysfunctional lipid signaling. The interaction between specific lipids and proteins can provide important information about the functions of proteins and lipids. A novel and effective method to identify lipid-protein interactions is to use a microarray platform. Lipid microarrays will enable researchers to obtain comparable fingerprints of proteins from cells or tissues bound to lipids, and will also be able to identify lipid-binding proteins with important functions. By applying systematic methods to the quantification of lipid-protein interactions, lipid microarrays will provide a comprehensive knowledge base for the human lipidome. Lipid microarrays will enable researchers to obtain comparable fingerprints of proteins from cells or tissues bound to lipids, and will also be able to identify lipid-binding proteins with important functions.

Service

We provide customized lipid analysis microarray services to analyze the role of lipids in the nervous system or the screening of autoantibodies. We have created a usable lipid microarray probe set, which contains different biological lipids and glycolipids. The targets in this sequence library are derived from the reported research on systemic diseases. The significance of building the library is to find potential lipid-protein interaction targets and screen potential targets for autoimmune responses. The process of our lipid printing microarray service is microarray design, microarray fabrication, detection and data analysis. Our microarray printing platform can print a variety of biological macromolecules. The lipids that can be printed on lipid microarrays include gangliosides, sulfatides, cerebrosides, sphingomyelins, total brain lipids, and microbial lipids. The service for autoantibody screening is incubated with samples sent by customers (diluted serum, cerebrospinal fluid, etc.) after the microarray is made, and chemiluminescence is used to detect autoantibodies bound to specific lipids and glycolipids on the array. The analysis service for lipid-protein interaction is to incubate with the capture antibody after the sample becomes rich. After the data is harvested, our professional bioinformatics team will conduct in-depth data mining and issue a comprehensive analysis report for customers.
